The 35th Anniversary celebration of NAPNAP's service to the pediatric nursing profession will come to a close in July. In honor of the momentous occasion, NAPNAP embarked on a “35 dollars for 35 years” campaign, asking that all members donate $1 for each year of NAPNAP's existence to the NAPNAP Foundation or $1 per year of NAPNAP membership. It is not too late to make your donation if you have not already done so. For more information or to make a donation, please contact the National Office at www.napnap.org or telephone (856) 857-9700; members only: (877) 662-7627.
Association Development
NAPNAP, along with the Consensus Management Group, recently undertook a study looking at Chapter Unification between the National and State Chapters. A work group was developed, and several National and Chapter members were queried on various strategies to improve the unity of NAPNAP and its chapters. Recommendations generated to help NAPNAP improve services to individual members, chapters, and NAPNAP as whole will be forthcoming.
Education
NAPNAP held its 29th Annual Conference (April 14-17, 2008) at Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn. Many invigorating sessions and intensive workshops were featured. Members found the conference to be a great opportunity to network with other pediatric health care providers.
Plan on attending the 30th Annual Conference (March 19-22, 2009) at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center in San Diego, Calif. (Pre-Conference Day: March 18, 2009). Abstracts for Concurrent Sessions and Research/Clinical Projects are due soon. Please check the Web site for submission criteria (www.napnap.org).
